How Ansel Replaced Traditional Offerings to Simplify Claims

The Ansel team worked with a Texas-based employer in the construction industry to offer a new supplemental health plan to their employees. 

The Challenge

A construction company based in Texas with 500+ employees offered traditional voluntary benefits to their employees— including critical illness and accident insurance. However, the complicated claims process, frequent denials, and extended waiting periods left many employees feeling frustrated and unable to experience the value of their coverage. To address this, the company sought a simplified solution that would provide a wider range of coverage and allow employees to access benefits without the need to file claims.

The Solution

During an educational webinar, the broker discovered Ansel— a modern supplemental health insurance offering that covers 13,000 illnesses and injuries, protecting employees from the financial strain of unexpected health issues. Additionally, what truly set Ansel apart was its ability to enable medical claims integration. With medical claims integration, this employer would be able to have their group’s medical claims data sent directly from their third party administrator to Ansel. This would allow employees to receive benefits without having to file claims. 

In the end, Ansel replaced the existing two traditional offerings. A detailed enrollment plan was rolled out, resulting in 19% employee participation on a pure voluntary basis.
